Transparency First

BMITool.org is a free resource. It costs me about $12 a year to run (domain registration). I make a small amount of money from two sources: advertising and affiliate links. I want to be completely transparent about both.

Advertising

You may see banner advertisements on some pages of this site. These ads are served by third-party ad networks. I do not control which specific ads are shown to you. Ad revenue helps cover hosting costs and justifies the time I spend maintaining the site.

Ads are clearly labeled as "Advertisement" and are never disguised as content.

Affiliate Links

Some articles and pages contain affiliate links to products or services I use and recommend. This means:

  • If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.
  • I only link to products I have personally used or thoroughly researched.
  • I do not write articles specifically to promote affiliate products. Articles are written because I find the topic interesting; affiliate links are added if relevant.
  • Affiliate relationships do not influence my opinions or recommendations.

  • H-E-B (local Austin grocery affiliate program, where applicable)

This list may be updated as programs change.

Non-Affiliated Content

The vast majority of content on this site contains no affiliate links. Articles about public health policy, self-experiments, data analysis, and local Austin topics rarely include product recommendations.

You are never obligated to click affiliate links or purchase anything. All tools on this site are completely free and will remain so. If you do choose to support the site through affiliate purchases, thank you — it helps keep the lights on.
